Massage for horses

Equine Massage Therapy

Free consultation and assessment

$30 Relaxational massage

Massage therapy can help horses with many problems such as a sore back, stiff muscles and joints, behavioural problems under saddle, chronic injuries or horses under training or in competition to better their performance.

What will be assessed?

The horse’s conformation, muscle tone, the way they move, what might be contributing to minor problems, to better prescribe what manipulations would benefit the horse. A ROM (Range of Motion) test might be used as well.

What’s included in the massage?

The massage will either be full body or partial. Full body will be more for relaxational purposes; a partial will target certain parts of the body that need more attention. For example a horse that is lame on the right front, a partial massage will target the weight bearing limbs (left fore and left hind) to aid in drainage and temporary relief.

After a massage, a series of stretches will be used to help realign muscle fibre and get the most out of the massage just given.
